Fake texts from fraudsters pretending to be UPS and emails impersonating Amazon, Microsoft or your bank are becoming a far greater pandemic than we could of imagined.
Just recently Amazon customers have been warned they could lose thousands of {currencyName} if they fall for the “convincing” fake email or text scam.
A bogus claim stating recipients have made an order online and mimic an automatic customer email notification.
They’re then told they need to pay a fee in order to reschedule a missed parcel delivery, or have ordered products like an expensive vintage chandelier, Bose stereos, iPhones and luxury watches.
In order to get a shopper’s financial information, the email cleverly indicates that if the recipient didn’t authorise the transaction they can click on the supposed help centre link provided to receive a full refund.

They’re nearly impossible to spot as the scammers as the messages identically mirror that of the legitimate websites and their chain of followup notifications
One shopper lost $2750 after clicking a link. Another one $1490,in fact these type of scams contribute to a crime being reported every 2.5 seconds and why on average it costs every single person over $750 per year.
Its safe to safe that’s these type of scams are more than a serious threat and almost a certainty.
So what should you look out for to make sure you don’t fall for the scam?
Amazon said that scam emails will often contain links to websites that look like Amazon.co.uk, but aren’t Amazon.co.uk so this is a good place to start, but these scammers are clever and they can mask links so to you they’ll appear they still coming from amazons directly
